Our Keystone Events

GBMs

General Body Meetings, abbreviated as GBMs, serve as a monthly meeting to update our general body members about what HSA is up to for the month in terms of events, fundraisers, service opportunities, and large organizational updates. Currently, HSA has been collaborating with our affiliate organizations to spotlight their own culture and interact with all our members in oriented activities.

Solidarity Sessions

At solidarity sessions, we tackle and create discussions on sociocultural topics that are impacting our Hispanic-Latine community. Join us on the first floor of Casita, sit around the couch and share your respectful opinions and experiences with the topic at hand. HSA wants to make sure that our members are heard and solidarity sessions serve as a great opportunity to find a smaller breakout group where your voice is heard.

Socials

HSA hosts a variety of socials throughout the year, from exciting domino tournaments to our Love, Actually Valentine’s picnic and the Welcome to Casita social, which highlights our space on campus. There’s something for everyone!

Stay updated by following us on Instagram @hsa.uf, where we post weekly graphics featuring upcoming socials. Whether it’s a study session at Marston, grabbing Krishna lunch, or a fun-filled event, HSA welcomes all, so be sure to stop by and join in!

Winter Formal

Winter Formal is HSA’s largest formal event of the Fall Semester, serving as a wrap-up celebration of the semester. This night features activities to play with fellow HSA members and also a chance to dress up with your familia in semi-formal attire. We also have our favorite superlatives awards: the Paper Plate Awards. We nominate and vote for HSA’s most chismoso/a and more!

Noche de Gala

Noche de Gala is HSA’s largest formal event of the Spring semester where we celebrate our communities’ accomplishments over the past school year. This year, we are taking on a Graduation/Hall of Fame ceremony that honors our HSA members graduating from the University. This night full of dancing and recognition gives our members the chance of clean up and celebrate the end of the semester!

State of the Association

Hosted by HSA's Office of Political Affairs and HSA President, the State of the Association is a semesterly informative event that covers university decisions and policies pertaining DEI on campus. The inaugural State of Association occurred in Fall 2024 and delved into the importance and history of DEI at UF, the effects of SB266 on students and organizations, and how HSA will support the Hispanic-Latine community and other marginalized communities on campus during this time.
